How do you warm up for a century ride?
If I was coaching my athletes, I would tell them to do a very light easy 25-30km ride the day before the Grand Finale of the season - the Echelon Mt Hood Gran Fondo Century! But no, this was one of those days where I definitely lost all control of my common sense(s?). The sun was shining. My legs felt fantastic. The roads were smooth and calling.... so we rode 60km, then another 39km.... as a warm up. The vollunteers for the Harvest Ride did a marvellous job setting up 4 excellent routes and so I dragged my half willing friends on a 98km warm up the day before the race. But, boy it was fantastic riding! So sorry I don't have any pictures but if you go to the website you can see how beautiful the day was and you would have to agree - it was a perfect day for riding....
