You win some .... and you lose some.
Yes, the Tuesday Night World Championships series has begun and tonight was the fourth night of racing. I missed the first race, won 2nd in the second race, came close to last in the third and tonight I came 3rd. Although I will be the first to admit that winning feels great - it is more than "winning" that brings me back to racing every week. The Tuesday night races are a great way to increase your fitness, practise racing tactics and meet new riders. Every Tuesday I wake up with a nervous stomach and all day long I dread the race..... even hoping it will rain so I don't have to go.... but I do. And everytime I roll out of the parking lot and start my first lap, my adrenaline starts pumping and everything else in my life is totally forgottan. For the next 30min, my focus is entirely wrapped up in the MOMENT. It is something that happens so rarely - where I am totally living in the present that nothing else matters. It is such a great feeling that when I leave the race, I am on a high - a natural endorphin induced high - that makes me excited to come out again next week - until Tuesday morning roll around! LOL!
